On the occasion of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s 74th birth anniversary, Superstar Rajinikanth visited her residence, Veda Nilayam, in Chennai’s Poes Garden to pay his respects. He recalled that his first visit was in 1977 when they were supposed to act together in a film. As part of the casting process, Jayalalithaa had requested to meet him in person, which led to his first interaction with her at Veda Nilayam. His second visit was years later when he personally invited her to the inauguration of Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam, a marriage hall built by him. The third time, he came to extend a formal invitation to her for his daughter’s wedding, continuing their long-standing professional and personal rapport.
Rajinikanth expressed deep admiration for Jayalalithaa, emphasizing her lasting impact on Tamil Nadu’s political landscape and his personal memories of her. He described her as a powerful leader and a remarkable personality whose contributions to the state remain unparalleled.
