Priyanka Chopra joins forces against gender-based violence: ‘It is a global crisis’
Priyanka Chopra leads the #StandWithHer campaign against gender-based violence, inspired by ‘To Kill a Tiger’. She was last seen in ‘Love Again’ and has upcoming roles in ‘Heads of State’ and ‘The Bluff’, with a return to Indian cinema in SS Rajamouli’s ‘SSMB 29’.

Priyanka Chopra is at the forefront of the #StandWithHer campaign, a global initiative focused on raising awareness about gender-based violence. It is being supported by notable figures such as Mindy Kaling and Dev Patel, according to a report by Variety.
The campaign, led by Priyanka, is inspired by director Nisha Pahuja’s Oscar-nominated documentary ‘To Kill a Tiger’. The campaign is set to launch in New York, USA. Priyanka expressed her commitment to the cause, stating, “Gender-based violence is a global crisis, yet too often, it remains hidden in the shadows. I am honoured to support the #StandWithHer campaign, inspired by Nisha’s powerful documentary To Kill a Tiger, to help drive meaningful change.”
The documentary ‘To Kill a Tiger’, available on Netflix, chronicles the courageous journey of Ranjit, a farmer from Jharkhand, India, as he seeks justice for his 13-year-old daughter who was sexually assaulted by three men. Despite facing numerous challenges, including death threats and ostracization, the family remained steadfast and achieved a landmark ruling. It will be showcased in several major U.S. cities, including New York, Chicago, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, and Washington D.C.
The documentary ‘To Kill a Tiger’ premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022 and was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 96th Academy Awards. Dev Patel and Mindy Kaling joined as executive producers in 2023, and Priyanka Chopra merged in 2024.
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra was last seen in the 2023 film ‘Love Again’. She has upcoming roles in ‘Heads of State’ with Idris Elba and John Cena, and ‘The Bluff’ with Karl Urban. Additionally, she is set to return to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s untitled film, ‘SSMB 29’, alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, which is currently filming in Odisha.
