Preity Zinta praises Kangana Ranaut and declares 'no politics for me': 'I believe she is a very good director'
Preity Zinta praised Kangana Ranaut as a “fantastic actress & fashion icon” and wished her well in politics. Zinta denied interest in politics, despite offers, and emphasized her pride as a soldier’s daughter.

Preity Zinta has been engaging with her followers through informal online interactions. Recently, she shared insights about her relationship with Kangana Ranaut and answered fan’s queries about entering politics.
During a session, a fan asked Preity, “#Pzchat during election campaign, kangana said that she had a phone call with u even before the 1st film, ur words encouraged her a lot, one line for Kangana pls”. To which, she replied, “Kangana is a fantastic actress & a fashion icon. I haven’t seen her work as a director, but I believe she is a very good director. I wish her all the best in her new role as a politician, and I sincerely hope she does her best for the people of Himachal Pradesh”.
The actress also addressed a query about her joining politics, stating that she has no interest in pursuing a career in politics. A user asked, “You are truly a “Soldier” Dear Preity !! Hats of to you !! just curious any plan to join politics ?”. She replied, “No ! No politics for me. Over the years, various political parties have offered me tickets & Rajya Sabha seats but I have politely declined as it’s not what I want. Calling me a soldier is not completely wrong because I am a soldier’s daughter & a soldiers sister We fauji kids/ army brats are wired different. We are not North Indian or South Indian or Himachalis or Bengalis etc. We are just Indians & yes patriotism & national pride is in our blood. If you know you know Ting!”.
Preity recently faced a political controversy when the Kerala Congress unit claimed she had received an Rs 18 crore loan waiver after handing over her social media accounts to the BJP. Zinta strongly denied these allegations, stating that she manages her own social media and had fully repaid the loan over a decade ago. She criticized the party for spreading “fake news” and expressed shock at their actions. When asked about filing a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi, Zinta maintained a neutral stance, preferring to handle issues directly rather than through legal battles. She emphasised having no issues with Gandhi and wished to avoid further conflict.
