Dragon follows the journey of Ragavan “Dragon” Dhanapal, a bright and obedient student in school. However, after being rejected by a girl for not being a ‘bad boy,’ he undergoes a drastic transformation, becoming a notorious college troublemaker. Instead of focusing on his studies, he racks up 48 arrears and refuses to clear them. Despite pretending to his parents that he has a respectable job, he spends his days idling at a friend’s house. His wake-up call arrives when his college girlfriend, Keerthi (played by Anupama) , breaks up with him due to his reckless behavior. This heartbreak becomes the catalyst for his redemption and self-discovery.
The film’s unique blend of humor, romance, and self-transformation has struck a chord with audiences, particularly the youth. Not many would be aware that Pradeep was the writer-director -actor of 2022 mega hit Love Today which was recently remade in Hindi as Loveyapa which starred Aamir Khan’s son Juniad and Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor. While the Tamil version created magic at the box office, the Hindi version struggled to stay afloat. But both the lead actors were appreciated for their act in the film and have a few more films line dup to prove themselves.
