PM-Kisan 20th instalment: When is the next payment date; check beneficiary status

NEW DELHI: The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme provides crucial financial support to farmers across India. Under this Central Government initiative, eligible landholding farmer families receive Rs 6,000 annually in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each, directly transferred to their bank accounts.

What is the PM-Kisan scheme?

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a Central Sector scheme launched by the Government of India, fully funded by the Centre. The scheme aims to provide income support of Rs 6,000 per year to all eligible landholding farmer families across the country. The amount is released in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each, directly credited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).The scheme also outlines certain exclusion categories, such as income tax payers and government employees, who are not eligible to receive benefits under PM-KISAN.

When is the instalment date?

According per reports, the 20th instalment of PM-Kisan is likely to be credited on June 20, 2025. However, no official confirmation has been issued yet. The 19th instalment was released in February 2025.

Who is eligible receive the instalment?

To receive the instalment, farmers must:

  • Be Indian citizens
  • Own cultivable land with valid records
  • Link Aadhaar to their bank account
  • Complete eKYC verification
  • Income tax payers, pensioners, and government/public sector employees are excluded from the scheme.

What are the steps to Get PM-Kisan 20th Instalment?

To receive the 20th instalment of the PM-Kisan scheme, farmers must complete a few important steps:1. Complete eKYC (Mandatory): eKYC is required to get the next instalment. Farmers can complete it online:

  • Visit pmkisan.gov.in
  • Click on the “e-KYC” option
  • Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha
  • Verify with the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number

2. Link Aadhaar with Bank Account: Farmers must ensure their Aadhaar is linked to their bank account to receive the instalment via direct benefit transfer (DBT). This can be done:

  • At your bank branch
  • Through Aadhaar-enabled banking services
  • Using mobile banking apps

3. Check beneficiary status: Here’s how you can do it

  • Go to pmkisan.gov.in
  • Under “Farmers Corner”, click “Beneficiary Status”
  • Enter your Aadhaar or registration number
  • Check your payment history and eligibility for the 20th instalment
  • Farmers are advised to complete all necessary updates to receive the 20th instalment on time
