Pakistan targets military bases across Northern, Western India, all attempts foiled: Officials

Pakistan launched multiple coordinated attempts to engage military targets across Northern and Western India on Wednesday night, but all attacks were successfully intercepted and neutralised by the air defence systems, senior officials from the defence ministry said, reported PTI.According to the officials, the Pakistani military attempted to strike key military locations, including Adampur, Bhatinda, and Chandigarh, among others.“Every attempt was foiled by our integrated air defence systems,” one official said. The authorities confirmed that the response was measured yet firm. “Our response has been in the same domain and with the same intensity as Pakistan’s aggression,” the officials added. While further operational details remain classified, defence sources say the situation is being closely monitored and India is fully prepared to respond to any further escalation.Meanwhile, India launched targeted strikes on Pakistani air defence radars and systems this morning, responding with “same domain and same intensity” after Pakistan attempted a coordinated drone and missile attack on military installations across Northern and Western India, the defence ministry said today.

.

It has been reliably learnt that an Air Defence system stationed in Lahore was successfully neutralised in the Indian Armed Forces’ precision response, ANI reported. The retaliation follows an escalation in cross-border shelling by Pakistan using mortars and heavy artillery across multiple sectors in Jammu and Kashmir — Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri. According to the defence ministry, 16 civilians, including three women and five children, were killed in the unprovoked shelling, prompting India to return fire to “bring Pakistani artillery to a halt.”On the night of May 7-8, Pakistan launched a large-scale drone and missile assault targeting Awantipora, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj. The Indian Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems successfully intercepted and neutralised these threats. Debris recovered from multiple sites confirmed the attempted strikes by Pakistan. The ministry of defence has described the Pakistani actions as a grave escalation and reiterated India’s commitment to defending its territory and civilian population.
