NEW DELHI: In a significant development, Indian streaming platform FanCode has announced it will suspend the broadcast of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 in India with an immediate effect starting on Thursday, April 24.
The decision follows the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that claimed the lives of more than 25 individuals, including Indian tourists.
In view of the deeply disturbing incident in Pahalgam and the ongoing national sentiment, FanCode, the official broadcaster of PSL in India, will not be streaming the remaining matches of the Pakistan-based tournament.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to issue a response to the development, but the move is already making waves across the sports and political communities, with fans reacting strongly on social media.
The PSL, Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament, has historically had a mixed relationship with Indian audiences due to diplomatic tensions between the two countries.
This marks another chapter in the intersection of geopolitics and sport, a space often caught in the crossfire of larger national issues.
