Pakistan named host for Women’s ODI World Cup qualifiers

NEW DELHI: Pakistan has been confirmed as the host nation for the upcoming Women’s 50-overs World Cup qualifiers, scheduled to take place later this month. This multi-team event will feature six participating teams: Pakistan, Scotland, Ireland, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the West Indies.
According to an official from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), preparations are underway in collaboration with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to finalise the dates and venues for the competition.
The potential host cities being considered are Karachi, Multan, and Faisalabad, taking into account the upcoming 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is set to commence on April 11.

The official expressed enthusiasm for Pakistan’s opportunity to host another ICC event, following the successful organisation of the ongoing Champions Trophy and a tri-series involving New Zealand and South Africa earlier.
This marks a significant milestone for Pakistan, as it will be the first time the country hosts a multi-team women’s ICC event.
The Women’s 50-overs World Cup qualifiers hold great importance, as it will determine the teams that will secure their spots in the prestigious Women’s Cricket World Cup.
