NEW DELHI: The Indian armed forces have carried out missile strikes on terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), in response to the terror attack in Pahalgam last month. The strikes, conducted under ‘Operation Sindoor‘, took place two weeks after 26 civilians were massacred in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.Several former and current cricketers, including spinner Varun Chakravarthy and Virender Sehwag, took to social media to react to the development. The Indian Ministry of Defence confirmed the strikes through an official statement.

.

“A little while ago, the Indian armed forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed,” the defence ministry said in a statement issued at 1:44 am.The statement further added that the Indian response was “focused, measured and non-escalatory” in nature and clarified that “no Pakistani military facilities have been targeted.”
