“We get a lot of complaints ranging from marital disputes to property and we have been taking action in these. However, where one community fights against the other community such cases are zero,” Lalpura said.
To bolster confidence of minority communities, quell insecurities and to understand their expectations, the NCM will be holding inter-faith meetings and to begin with on June 20 the NMC has plans to hold a “Sarv Dharm Samvad” where prominent members of the six minority communities will be invited for discussion. The NCM chief along with the members will also be visiting Ayodhya later this month. This will be their first visit since the Ram temple consecration.
On being questioned over recent statement of AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi that instances of attacks on Muslims after elections have increased, Lalpura said he would like to publicly ask Owaisi to not just make statements but to bring these instance to the notice of the commission so that they can be investigated and action taken accordingly. Owaisi in a post on X on Thursday said, “Since the election results have come, instances of attacks on Muslims from different parts of the country have been increasing. Two Muslims were killed in UP, bulldozer was run over the houses of Muslims in Akbarabad and two Muslims were lynched in Chhattisgarh. Is the Sangh parivaar taking revenge from Muslims?”
Meanwhile, Lalpura also condemned the comments made by former Pakistani cricketer Kamran Akmal on Indian cricketer Arshdeep Singh. In a viral video, Akmal was seen making fun of Arshdeep’s Sikh religion.
Reacting sharply, Lalpura said, “The Sikhs account for a miniscule minority in Pakistan. They are not safe there because people like Kamran Akmal have a biased mindset against the Sikhs.”
