The young opener achieved the landmark during his scintillating knock of 83 off 49 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.

Prabhsimran’s innings, studded with six sixes and six fours, was instrumental in powering Punjab Kings to a commanding 201 for 4 after skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first. The Patiala-born batter stitched a brilliant 120-run opening stand with Priyansh Arya, who blazed away to a 35-ball 69, laying the perfect foundation for a big total.

With Saturday’s innings, Prabhsimran now has 1048 runs from 43 matches, including one century and five fifties for PBKS. He surpassed former Punjab batter Manan Vohra, who previously held the record among uncapped players with 957 runs in 45 games.
