GST portal has made a new utility in relief to assess to drop the proceedings for the suspension of registration on the GST portal and cancel the registration suspension.

GST Tech on Twitter (@Infosys_GSTN) wrote that from now the assessee could execute Drop the GST Registration cancellation proceedings.

Those assessees are used to function who used to furnish their due returns post to the receipt of the show cause notice provided via the GST system.

Prior to the functionality, the assesses who furnish their due returns but do not answer SCN, have their registration would be suspended even if the returns get furnished.

But the sort of assesses secure with the utility to execute drop proceedings itself after the due returns would get furnished.

When the assessee files the due returns and their GST registration status would still suspend, the assessee enables to cancel the suspension via one tap through executing the drop proceeding.

The assessee is enabled to log on to the GST portal ⏩ Services ⏩ User Services ⏩ View Notices and Orders ⏩ Click on ‘Initiate Drop Proceeding’, to use the facility.

The action can be important because that diminishes the litigations to the courts. Several writ petitions were being furnished to the High courts since the assesses were not satisfied with the action of the GST department that suspended the enrollment and the law remedy was not available because of the absence of the GST Tribunal to date.
