Neil Nitin Mukesh reveals struggle to find work in Bollywood despite 20-year career: 'It is my duty to remind that I exist'

Neil Nitin Mukesh, despite his 20-year career in Bollywood, continues to face challenges in securing acting roles. In a recent interview, he revealed that he still messages people to seek opportunities, as the struggle for work persists after each project. Despite having appeared in over 30 films, including ‘Johnny Gaddaar’ and ‘New York’, Neil feels the need to remind industry professionals that he is available and eager for work.
In an interview with Hindi Rush, he shared that he still messages people asking for work, typically receiving responses like, “We’ll keep you in mind.” He emphasized that it’s his duty to remind them he exists. When he debuted, only a few newcomers would be launched every two or three years, but now a newcomer emerges almost every week, reducing him to just another option.
Neil noted that all actors compete for good roles. He acknowledged that filmmaking is a business, but believes having the right role and support is key to success, regardless of box office guarantees.
On the work front, Neil Nitin Mukesh recently starred in Ashwini Dhir’s satirical action-comedy ‘Hisaab Barabar‘, alongside R. Madhavan, Kirti Kulhari, Rashami Desai, and Faisal Rashid. The film, available on ZEE5, follows a railway ticket checker who uncovers a large financial scam linked to a banker, played by Neil. The movie explores themes of corruption and justice with humor and satire.
