Days after the infamous Pune Porsche crash, a man in Mumbai was arrested after a video of him sprawled on the hood of a moving BMW car went viral on social media. The car was allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy.

According to an NDTV report, the man lying on the BMW’s bonnet in the footage has been identified as Subham Mitalia while the teenager was driving the vehicle around Mumbai’s Kalyan area near Shivaji Chowk on Saturday.

The video, widely circulated on social media, was filmed by locals in the vicinity and triggered another debate on the need for stricter traffic and road safety laws amid the ongoing controversy around the Pune Porsche drunk and driving case.

Following the incident, 21-year-old Subham Mitalia, who was lying on the bonnet of the luxury vehicle was arrested while both the teenage driver and his father were booked under relevant sections.

The police officials also revealed that the car is registered under the minor’s father, who holds a government position.

“A case has been filed against the official for permitting his underage son to drive without a valid driver’s license,” the police said.

Pune Porsche Case

A team of representatives from Porsche reached the Yerwada police station on Monday to conduct a technical inspection of the luxury car involved in the crash that killed two persons, an official said.

The electric luxury sports sedan — Porsche Taycan — was allegedly driven by a 17-year-old, who the police claim was drunk at the time of the accident, in which two IT professionals died in the Kalyani Nagar area in the early hours of May 19.

Meanwhile, new CCTV footage emerged in the case, showing the 17-year-old accused driving the same Porsche he allegedly drove on the night of the tragic incident. The video was captured just a day before the accident.
