NEW DELHI: MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), offered valuable advice to the young Indian batters, who has impressed in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. He emphasised the importance of maintaining consistency and remaining calm under pressure if they wish to realise their full potential moving forward. They have to try for the consistency, but if you are looking for 200-plus strike rate then consistency is hard to get …. they have the ability to hit sixes at any stage,” Dhoni said.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW!“Don’t take pressure, when the expectations rise … learn from senior players and coaching staff .. it’s about reading the game … this would be my advice to all the youngsters who have done well.”Dhoni’s CSK lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) by six wickets in their penultimate match, leaving them at the bottom of the IPL table. RR concluded their campaign with a comfortable win, thanks to a mature 57-run knock from RR prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi.Reflecting on the match, Dhoni acknowledged that CSK lost one or two extra wickets at the start, which put pressure on the lower-middle order. He praised Brevis’s innings and the overall run rate but identified the need for improvement in that area.RR captain Sanju Samson admitted that his team made mistakes and could have performed better. He acknowledged the narrow margin of error between winning and losing and emphasised the need for a proper review and a better mindset for the next season.

‘Shubman Gill used his brains a lot more than the other guys’

Samson praised the performances of pacer Akash Madhwal (3/29) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (57), highlighting their temperament, planning, and promising futures. He also commended the work done by the coaching staff in developing the young talents.“I don’t have words for Vaibhav. The hundred he got. He can hit a slower ball over cover. Today when the middle overs were on, he was going with his job very smartly. He has game awareness at such a young age,” he added.
