Mohamed Salah has claimed his third Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year award, capping off a sensational season that saw him guide Liverpool to their 20th English top-flight title. The Egyptian forward was a dominant force in Liverpool’s Premier League-winning campaign, scoring 28 goals and registering 18 assists—setting a new record for most goal involvements in a 38-game season.His prolific output not only drove Liverpool to domestic glory but also earned him an overwhelming 90 percent of the writers’ votes, the highest winning margin recorded this century. With this triumph, Salah joins Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as only the second player to have won the prestigious award three times, having previously received the honour in 2017–18 and 2021–22. Liverpool’s defensive talisman Virgil van Dijk finished second in the voting, followed by Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak and Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice, who claimed third and fourth spots respectively.Quiz: Who’s that IPL player?
