Mika Singh reveals Shah Rukh Khan warned him against asking Gauri Khan for interior design: 'She will rob you'

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan never fails to entertain with his witty humor, and singer Mika Singh recently shared an amusing anecdote that perfectly captures SRK’s playful side. During an interview with Pinkvilla, Mika revealed that he had approached Gauri Khan, a renowned interior designer, to renovate his house. However, SRK humorously warned him, saying, “Gauri Khan lootegi, mehenga karegi”, suggesting that the renovation might be costly.
Mika recalled the conversation fondly, sharing how Shah Rukh jokingly tried to dissuade him. “I requested him to please ask Gauri Bhabhi to do the interiors. He said, ‘Nahi yaar, bohot lootegi tumhe, bohot mehenga karegi. Jaan bhoojh ke dara rahe the mujhe’” (She will make it very expensive. He was scaring me on purpose). Despite SRK’s teasing, Mika was adamant about having Gauri redesign his home.
Eventually, after speaking to Gauri Khan directly, Mika’s wish was granted. However, she had one condition: complete creative freedom. Mika shared, “Gauri ma’am had one demand that, whatever I do, you can’t question me. Usually, I don’t use green in my house,I only use beige and brown. But in the middle of this house, she added a green couch.”
Mika also revealed that the renovation took nearly two years, but he never interfered in the process. His patience paid off, and he was thrilled with the final result. Expressing his gratitude, he said, “So once again, thank you, Gauri Bhabhi, for such a wonderful house.”
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh himself is set to temporarily move out of Mannat as the iconic bungalow is gearing up for a major renovation. According to Hindustan Times, the extensive remodeling, including an expansion of the property, is expected to begin in May. Since Mannat is a Grade III heritage structure, SRK had to seek court approval for any structural modifications.
