Melania Trump was seen on Tuesday with double her usual security in New York — the first time after the second assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump on Sunday. A convoy of eight vehicles including an NYPD Emergency Service Unit van manned by a cop carrying an automatic weapon — was there for Melania as she left the Trump Tower, New York Post reported adding that today’s fleet was double the usual security detail of the former first lady.Melania left Trump Tower through its underground parking garage, the report said.
According to the report, Melania’s departure from Trump Tower coincided with the arrival of her stepson Eric Trump. But as the 56th Street was completely closed for Melania’s security, Eric had to get out of his car at the 56th and 5th Avenue and walk around 40 feet to the side entrance.
The second assassination attempt on Donald Trump put the Secret Service under scanner as Trump’s golf course visit was not an official schedule and it was a last-minute decision. The Secret Service admitted that before Donald Trump’s game, they didn’t search the golf course where Ryan Wesley Routh, the accused, was hiding for around12 hours. He was arrested after the agents spotted the muzzle of an AK-style rifle sticking out of the bush of the golf course. The agents opened fire before the accused could do anything. He fled the spot and was arrested 40 minutes later.
Trump blamed the rhetoric of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for the assassination bid and said that the accused was influenced by the highly inflammatory language they used. “Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out,” Trump said.
“You know what’s getting really old? Having to have conversations with my 5 young children about radical leftist trying to kill their grandfather. No person should ever have to do this in America or anywhere else and yet I had to have that conversation five times again yesterday,” Donald Trump Jr reacted.
Melania Trump did not issue any statement after the assassination attempt and Barron Trump’s whereabouts when it happened is also unknown.
