
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu on Monday extended greetings on the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.
“Greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr. May this festival enhance the spirit of hope, harmony and kindness in our society. May there be joy and success in all your endeavours. Eid Mubarak!” PM Modi said in a post on X.
“I extend my greetings to all my fellow countrymen, especially my Muslim brothers and sisters, on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. This festival strengthens the spirit of brotherhood and conveys the message of compassion, goodwill, and charity. I pray that this festival brings peace, prosperity, and happiness to everyone’s life and instills in everyone’s hearts the spirit of moving forward on the path of goodness,” President Murmu said.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shahnawaz Hussain extended his wishes to the nation emphasizing peace and unity. “I extend my best wishes to the people of the country on the occasion of Eid. Today, people have precefully offered Namaz everywhere. Eid is the day to forget everything and hug each other. I pray that there should be unity in the country and that our country progresses,” he said.
The sighting of the crescent moon marked the end of Ramadan, and on Monday morning, millions of Muslims across the country gathered in mosques and prayer grounds to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr.
