Macao Tourism Office Will Launch Exciting Three-Day Roadshow in Bangkok – Travel And Tour World

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is set to launch the three-day “Experience Macao” roadshow in Bangkok, Thailand this Friday, 14 June. Ahead of this, the “Macao Tourism + MICE Product Updates Seminar & Travel Mart Bangkok 2024” will take place on Thursday, 13 June. These events aim to provide local residents and tourism operators a closer look at Macao as a prime destination while fostering partnerships between Macao and Thai tourism businesses, thereby expanding Macao’s international market presence.

Vibrant Roadshow to Boost Macao’s Appeal

Building on the success of last year’s roadshow in Bangkok, the MGTO returns to the vibrant city with its “Experience Macao” roadshow at Central World from 14 to 16 June. This initiative marks another major promotion in the Asian market post-pandemic, bringing a burst of colors and excitement to one of Bangkok’s iconic shopping complexes.

“Ma Ma” Experience Macao

This year’s roadshow is themed “Experience Macao, Ma Ma Macao,” incorporating the affectionate Thai phrase “Ma Ma” which translates to a warm invitation. The event will feature booths showcasing Macao’s rich culture, delectable cuisine, festivals, and a variety of “tourism +” elements, creating a colorful and engaging atmosphere for Thai visitors.

Six integrated resort enterprises from Macao and the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin will present their latest tourism facilities and innovations. Air Macau, along with other airlines and travel agencies, will offer special promotions on Macao tourism products to attract Thai consumers and increase visits to Macao.

Promoting Business Collaboration in Tourism and MICE

On Thursday, 13 June, the “Macao Tourism + MICE Product Updates Seminar & Travel Mart Bangkok 2024” will be held at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World. This seminar will update Thai travel trade on the latest trends in Macao’s tourism and MICE sectors, followed by a networking session aimed at forging new partnerships and exploring market potential to boost visitor arrivals from both regions.

Multichannel Promotional Campaign

MGTO has implemented a comprehensive online and offline promotional campaign to increase the visibility of the Experience Macao roadshow. Advertisements are displayed across Bangkok’s Mass Transit System (BTS Skytrain), with promotional videos featuring Thai celebrities aired on outdoor screens. Additionally, social media promotions on Facebook, KOL platforms, and TikTok include a city-wide dance challenge and flash mob performances at Siam Square, all aimed at engaging Thai residents and enhancing their awareness of Macao.

Tapping Into Potential Visitor Markets

Provisional statistics from January to May 2024 show Thailand as the eighth largest visitor market for Macao, highlighting its significant potential. Currently, three airlines—Air Macau, Thai AirAsia, and Thai Lion Air—operate 45 weekly direct flights between Bangkok and Macao.

Last year, MGTO invited Thai KOLs, media, and travel trade for familiarization visits to Macao, spotlighting the destination and promoting travel. Following the lifting of travel restrictions, MGTO has launched a series of international marketing campaigns, including roadshows, trade visits, and travel fairs across Southeast and Northeast Asia to rejuvenate tourism and boost economic recovery.

These initiatives by MGTO not only showcase Macao as an attractive destination but also strengthen ties with international markets, particularly in Southeast Asia, promoting mutual growth and increased visitor arrivals.
