LSG vs CSK: Rahul Tripathi's stunning catch lights up his 100th IPL game - Watch
Rahul Tripathi (Video grab)

NEW DELHI: Rahul Tripathi made his 100th Indian Premier League (IPL) appearance one to remember with a sensational catch to dismiss Aiden Markram in the opening over of the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium on Monday.
The moment came off the final ball of the first over, bowled by Khaleel Ahmed. Markram, expecting an inswinger, misread the delivery which angled away on a hard length. The extra bounce caught him off guard, and the ball took the leading edge of his bat, looping into the air behind mid-off.

Tripathi, stationed at mid-off, turned and sprinted back with the ball swirling over his shoulder. Timing his dive to perfection, he flung himself forward and pouched a stunning grab — leaving both teammates and fans in awe.

It was a brilliant start for CSK after electing to bowl first, with Tripathi’s athleticism setting the tone early. The franchise also made two changes, bringing in Shaik Rasheed and Jamie Overton, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Devon Conway missed out.
Mitchell Marsh returned to the LSG XI, replacing Himmat Singh in their only change.
