Lawyer confirms Govinda and Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce 6 months back, but they are going strong now: 'Such things keep happening'

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja were rumoured to get divorced. When ETimes contacted the actor he reacted and said, “These are only business talks going…I am in the process of starting my films.” However, now their lawyer and family friend Lalit Bindal has confirmed that the couple had filed for divorce six months ago. He also added that such things keep happening between couples but things are fine now.
Bindal said in an interview with India Today, “We also travelled to Nepal during the New Year and performed puja together at Pashupati Nath Mandir. Everything is fine between them now. Such things keep happening between couples, but they are going strong and will always be together.”
He also added how the social media is just using some of Sunita’s statements against the couple and having their own conclusions. He said, “Like when she said mujhe Govinda jaisa pati nahi chaiye (I don’t want Govinda as my husband in next birth), she did add that she wanted a son like him. Or when she said that he was with his own valentine, she meant he was working. It is unfortunate that people are only talking negatively about them when the couple is together, and I can assure that they will always be. No divorce is going to happen.”
Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha also told Etimes, “There have been issues between the couple due to certain statements made by certain members from the family. There is nothing more to it and Govinda is in the process of starting a film for which artists are visiting our office. We are trying to resolve it.”
