Kriti Sanon gets amazed as fans celebrate India's ICC Champions Trophy win: 'I thought Shah Rukh Khan entered'

They say cricket is more than a sport, it is a religion in India. Thus, it is hard to put in words the excitement and happiness of Indians when Team India won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand. This news took over every celebration happening around the world. A recent award function was also found under the spell of India’s big historic win.
The enthusiasm of the fans went beyond expectations, and thus, when Kriti Sanon took the stage, she was simply surprised to see the crowd cheering. Unaware that everyone was celebrating India’s victory, she wondered what led to such frenzy. She thought it’s either Shah Rukh Khan on the red carpet or some other big Bollywood name making his way to the ceremony and thus, the fans are so excited.
“Yaha pe sab excited hai, mujhe laga Shah Rukh sir enter kiye, ya koi celebrity aaye jo itna shor mach raha but then I got to know that India has won(When I heard all the shouting and hooting, I thought, ‘Who has entered?’ And then, of course, I realized it was a double celebration! I’m extremely proud and so happy,” said Kriti Sanon as she saw everyone standing in unison to celebrate India’s victory over New Zealand at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
India has now secured the ICC Champions Trophy three times. The team’s initial victory was in 2002, when they shared the championship with Sri Lanka, and they claimed the trophy again in 2013 under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
Bollywood has celebrated India’s win by sharing heartfelt messages. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the team and lauded their hardwork via a social media post that read – “An exceptional game and an exceptional result!”
“Proud of our cricket team for bringing home the ICC Champions Trophy. They’ve played wonderfully through the tournament. Congratulations to our team for the splendid all round display,” wrote the political leader.
