Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, has reacted to the recent allegations concerning the actor’s past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor.
The statement follows explosive claims made by the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute and other media outlets, over photos and a letter, purportedly linking the two when the actress was just 17.
In an official statement shared with Sports Donga and other publications, Gold Medalist stated, “We would like to comment on the recent broadcast from Garo Sero Institute about Kim Soo Hyun. We will be releasing a full statement next week to set the record straight, correct false statements, and counter the baseless rumours that were presented about Kim Soo Hyun. We apologize for causing exhaustion with the lengthy wait. Please understand as this is to avoid continuous statement releases.”
Actor Kim Soo Hyun has been facing the heat on and off social media, after a postcard sent from France and an interview with Kim’s aunt, claimed discussions about marriage took place, further intensifying speculation about the nature of their relationship.
Additionally, Hoverlab released an image showing Kim Soo Hyun kissing Kim Sae Ron on the cheek, sparking uproar online after reports alleged that their relationship spanned six years, coinciding with Kim’s mandatory military service from 2017 to 2019.
A love letter dated June 9, 2018, allegedly written by Kim during his service, has surfaced online. In the letter, he reportedly expressing his affection for Kim Sae Ron, who was still a minor at the time.
The backlash has led to public calls for Kim Soo Hyun’s removal from MBC’s variety show “Good Day.”
The actor, best known for his role in “Queen of Tears,” is also set to star in the upcoming Disney+ drama “Knock-Off,” set during the aftermath of the 1997 Asian financial crisis. As the controversy unfolds, the release date for the series remains unconfirmed.
