A special puja was performed at Karnataka’s Chamundeshwari Temple by the locals yesterday. This was done to celebrate the third Friday of the Ashadha month. Devotees engaged in worship and offered thousands of kilograms worth of flowers. The Chamundeshwari Temple is located in the town of Srirangapatna, in Mandya. The devotees started to visit the temple in the morning and offered flowers to the Goddess. According to Local18, the Goddess was adorned with 2000 kilograms of flowers. The Abhishekam performed during the puja included 16 types of liquids. Some of these were butter, ghee, honey and several other substances. According to the information given, 20 vedic scholars engaged in Veda Parayana and performed the special puja.

For the occasion, Goddess Chamundi was adorned with around 10,000 holige and 1,000 kajjayas. It is believed that the Goddess is a lover of jaggery, so the special holige was prepared and offered to her during the puja.

Local18 reports that the holige used in the decoration of the Goddess was to be distributed as prasad to the devotees. Locals from places like Mysuru, Mandya and some other districts were waiting since morning to worship the deity.

The video shared by Local18 shows the interiors of the temple, decorated with the mentioned sweets. The desserts are attached all around the sanctum sanctorum of the Goddess; the food item is decorated from the floor to the walls on the side. It also captures the long line of devotees, patiently waiting to worship the Goddess, who were also being given prasad.

The Chamundeshwari Temple is located about 13 kilometres from the city of Mysuru. It is located closer to places like the Lalitha Mahal Palace, which includes the ITDC hotel, Dasara Exhibition grounds, Race Course, Kukkarahalli and a lot more places.
