Anand Tiwari recently revealed that Triptii Dimri’s role in Bad Newz was decided well before she was considered for Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.
Actress Triptii Dimri is enjoying the success of her recent film, Bad Newz, and has become a hot topic in Bollywood. With over five projects lined up, she is emerging as a major talent. Bad Newz director Anand Tiwari recently revealed that Dimri’s role in the film, which stars Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk, was decided well before she was considered for Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.
As per the Indian Express, director Anand Tiwari shared that Karan Johar recommended Triptii Dimri for Bad Newz after seeing her in Bulbbul and Qala. He said, “Karan Johar recommended Triptii while she was still being considered for Animal and not yet part of the film”.
Talking about her strong background and hinting that her performance in the film would be pleasantly surprising, Anand added, “Triptii Dimri is like Vicky Kaushal in the making.”
News18 Showsha reviewed the film with 3 stars and wrote, “Vicky gives it his all to Akhil Chaddha, who seems like an extension of Vicky Sandhu or more appropriately, a mix of Vicky Sandhu and Rocky Randhawa. He maybe impish but he’s the greenest green flag, who loves selflessly with all his heart. It’s him who single-handedly tries to elevate this middling script. His comic timing is great but he surely deserved funnier dialogues. His banter with Ammy are pure gold. A special mention goes to the scene where Akhil and Gurbir meets for the first time at a doctor’s clinic to get their paternity tests done. Their chemistry, in all honesty, is richer than the one shared by Akhil and Saloni.”
Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri’s rumoured beau Sam Merchant had also given a positive review to Bad Newz. He took to his Instagram stories and shared the song Tauba Tauba song. He wrote, “Great performance thoroughly entertaining! @TriptiiDimri Ufff!!”
