These revelations have led to widespread outrage and demands for significant changes to make the industry safer and fairer for women. In an interview with an entertainment news portal, Kangana Ranaut stated that the industry has been keeping these issues hidden for six years. The Queen actress recalled that she spoke out against problems like rape culture and the portrayal of women in item songs on Aamir Khan’s show Satyamev Jayate ten years ago. The actress highlighted how even after so many years, the same kind of harmful and sexist cinema is still being promoted, nothing has changed for the better. Further, Kangana Ranaut shared her disappointment with women who do not support each other’s work. Following the Hema Committee report, the members of the Association of Malayalam Movie Actors (AMMA) committee have stepped out. Several Malayalam actors, like Prithiviraj Sukumaran and Tovino Thomas, have reacted to the allegations against some popular male Malayalam stars. The actors demand that those accused and proven guilty of their crimes face harsh consequences.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut is busy with the promotions of her upcoming film Emergency. The actress portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in it.
