Kamala Harris says she doesn't agree with Biden's 'garbage' comment but...
Kamala Harris reacted to the ‘garbage’ row over President Joe Biden’s comment.ā

Vice president Kamala Harris reacted to the ‘garbage’ row and said she strongly disagrees with any kind of criticism of people based on who they vote for. But President Biden already clarified his comments, Kamala Harris said in her first comment over the most contentious issue six days before the election.

A major row broke out as the GOP seized on President Joe Biden’s garbage comment which was a riposte to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s joke made at the Madison Square Ground. The comedian called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage but the Republicans distanced from the comment and Donald Trump said he did not hear the joke.
Referring to Hinchcliffe’s joke, Biden said, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters…’ ranking all Trump supporters as the GOP went on an overdrive to send ‘love you supporters’ message. The White House managed damage control as they released the transcript of the script which has an apostrophe for saving grace. “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter’s…” the transcript read emphasising that Biden did not call garbage to Donald Trump’s supporters but he called Tony Hinchcliffe garbage.
The clarification that Kamala Harris referred to was in a similar vein. Biden took to X and posted: “Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage — which is the only word I can think of to describe it. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I meant to say.”
‘As someone who had a stutter growing up’
The questionable apostrophe triggered major debates as film executive Frankin Lepnard in an appearance on CNN;s News Night Tuesday said it was very obvious that there was an apostrophe at the end of ‘supporters’. “As someone who had a stutter growing up, it’s very obvious to me that there’s an apostrophe at the end of ‘supporter’s’ there,” he said. “He was referring to the garbage spewed by supporters, not simply the supporters themselves,” added Leonard.
“They’re trying to make a firestorm out of something,” said MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough. “Joe Biden obviously doesn’t believe that.”
The New York Times headline said: “Biden Appears to Insult Trump Supporters as ‘Garbage,’ but Quickly Tries to Clarify.”
