'Kabir Singh' director Sandeep Reddy Vanga feels actor like Shahid Kapoor should not do remakes: 'I used to tell him...'

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who directed Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh, recently stated that Shahid should avoid remakes. This has left fans confused, especially since Kabir Singh, the Hindi adaptation of Arjun Reddy, was a massive success and a turning point in Shahid’s career.
Vanga told Komal Nahta that Shahid Kapoor, being a highly original actor, should avoid remakes. He mentioned that he often advised Shahid against taking up such projects.

The filmmaker even clarified that he never considered Shahid Kapoor for Animal. He explained that when he envisioned the emotional story, Ranbir Kapoor naturally came to mind as the perfect fit for the role.

Shahid Kapoor, who recently starred in remakes like Jersey and Deva, is set to collaborate with Triptii Dimri for the first time in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara. Vikrant Massey is reportedly playing the antagonist, while Nana Patekar and Randeep Hooda are also part of the film.

Ekta Kapoor is reportedly planning a sequel to Udta Punjab and wants Shahid Kapoor to return as the lead. According to reports, Aakash Kaushik, known for his work on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 & 3, Housefull 4, and Great Grand Masti, has been roped in to write and direct Udta Punjab 2.

Udta Punjab 2 is reportedly in the writing stage, with production set to begin next year. The team will finalize the cast once the script is ready, but Ekta Kapoor is eager to bring Shahid Kapoor back. She has had initial discussions with him, though formal talks are pending.
