Jr NTR did not look happy when he was spotted for the first time after Devara’s Hyderabad event got cancelled.
Telugu superstar Jr NTR did not look happy when he made his way to the Hyderabad airport on Sunday night. The Devara actor, who has been busy with the promotions of his film, was spotted with his wife Lakshmi Pranathi. Tarak and his wife were reportedly headed to Los Angeles for the promotions of Devara: Part 1. Although Jr NTR spotted the cameras, he did not stop to pose for a photo nor sported a smile.
His sadness might be stemming from the fact that Devara: Part 1’s fan event in Hyderabad was cancelled in the last minute. On Sunday, Jr NTR was slated to meet his fans to talk about his first solo release in six years. However, due to ‘technical issues’, the event had to be cancelled. The RRR star apologised to fans and Devara’s official team issued a statement about the same.
On Sunday night, Jr NTR and Devara took to social media and addressed the cancelled event. “I am deeply saddened that Devara’s event has been cancelled, especially because I was looking forward to it so much. I enjoy spending time with you and sharing many interesting details about Devara. I was excited to share many details about Devara and explain the efforts put into the film. But, the event couldn’t happen due to security reasons. I share your disappointment. My pain is more than yours,” Jr NTR said.
“In my opinion, it is wrong to blame the producers or organisers for the cancellation of the event,” he added.
In a statement to the press, team Devara said, “Pre-release event was scheduled very close to Ganesh Nimarjanam and large scale events like this typically require at least a week of preparation. Additionally heavy rains over the past few days crated many challenges. Even though it didn’t rain today conditions wouldn’t have been favourable for an outdoor event to happen even if we had planned it (sic).”
“The massive turnout of fans despite our best efforts became uncomfortable as barricades were broken due to the overwhelming crowd. For the safety of everyone we had to make the tough decision to call off the event (sic),” the statement added.
