John Abraham hints at 'Pathaan' prequel for his character Jim: 'We'll explore him before he turns bitter'

John Abraham, who won several hearts with his negative role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Pathaan, recently hinted at his involvement in the ‘Pathaan’ series, but not necessarily in ‘Pathaan 2’. He suggested a prequel focusing on his character, Jim, might happen before his character turns bitter.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, John revealed, “I think he (Adi) gets me right, and hopefully we’ll be doing a prequel to Jim before he goes bitter. So that should be happening.”
Abraham played the role of Jim, a ruthless antagonist, in the 2023 film ‘Pathaan’. A former RAW agent who turned against his country after a personal tragedy. His backstory reveals that he was once a patriot who became a mercenary after his family was killed by terrorists, and India refused to negotiate for their release. John’s portrayal of Jim received significant appreciation.
‘Pathaan’ is a 2023 thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham in the main lead roles. Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films, the film features Pathaan, an exiled RAW agent, battling Jim, a former agent turned mercenary. Jim plans a deadly attack on India, leading Pathaan to team up with ISI agent Rubai to stop him. Interestingly, Salman Khan also made a cameo in the film.
On the work front, John is currently busy promoting his upcoming film ‘The Diplomat’ which will hit the screens on the Holi Weekend. The film was earlier scheduled to release on March 7, however it will be hitting the big screens on March 14. Directed by Shivam Nair, the film is inspired by true events and promises a gripping tale of diplomacy, courage, and intelligence. It was on February 14, when the makers of the film dropped the trailer of the film, which features John Abraham in a compelling new role as real-life Indian diplomat J.P. Singh. The movie also stars Sadia Khateeb, Sharib Hashmi, Revathy, and Kumud Mishra.
