NEW DELHI: Former cricketer Yograj Singh has always been known for his bold and often controversial statements. Recently, on Taruwar Kohli’s “Find a Way” podcast, Yograj made headlines once again by stating that he has never differentiated between his son, Yuvraj Singh, and other cricketers, including MS Dhoni.
During the discussion, Yograj passionately defended senior Indian players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, arguing that their talent should not be dismissed due to temporary slumps in form.
He emphasised that, given the opportunity to coach the Indian team, he would help them regain their prime.

“If you make me the coach of the Indian team, I will use these same players to transform it into a side that will be unbeatable for ages,” he declared.
He expressed frustration over the quick dismissal of top players after a bad phase, adding that he would treat them like his own children, ensuring they receive the support they need.
“People are always ready to throw them out—drop Rohit Sharma or drop Kohli—but why? They are going through a rough patch. I would treat them like my kids and tell them, ‘I am with you.’ I’ll tell them, let’s play Ranji Trophy, or I will make Rohit run 20 km. Nobody does that. These players are diamonds. You don’t throw them out. I will be like their father,” he said.

He then went on to add, “I have never differentiated between Yuvraj and the others, not even Dhoni.”
Yograj’s statement about not differentiating between Yuvraj and Dhoni is surprising, given his past remarks about the former India captain.

“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son… it can never be forgiven in life,” he had stated.
“That man (Dhoni) has destroyed the life of my son, who could have played four to five years more.”
