Isha Foundation Chikkaballapur | Your Path to Spiritual Awakening Begins Here!

Mayank Sharma

Isha foundation chikkaballapur- Back when I was a kid, I used to ask my father about God’s presence. My father used to say that God is “Yatra, Tatra, Sarvatra”, meaning God is “Here, there, and everywhere.”

Very recently Lord Shiva proved my father correct, choosing Sadhguru as his medium.

My wife was after my life for a visit to Coimbatore for quite some time to see Adiyogi Statue at Isha Foundation. Unfortunately, it was being postponed due to one reason or another. Here’s a detail blog and experience about Isha Yoga Coimbatore for your reading.

But, thanks to Sadhguru, it’s now so convenient to witness the same magnificence, and that too so near to Bangalore.

Finally, we were going to “The Abode of Yoga” near Chikkaballapur, also known as Sadhguru Sannidhi or simply as “Adiyogi Statue near Bangalore”.

Plan for the Day

Recently, I was contacted by one of our esteemed readers, Mr. Raj Venkat, who was interested in an outing with us.

He had gone through our article on “Free Camping Sites Near Bangalore” and had liked the place and the idea mentioned in the article.

We planned a small meet-up of our families over an outdoor cooking outing on the way to the Adiyogi Statue, Chikkaballapura.

Only the Naga Shrine, Yogeshwar Linga, and the Adiyogi Statue have been consecrated.

What time is the Isha light show in Chikkaballapur?

Adiyogi Divya Darshanam

This leaves us with a lot of time as the laser show starts at nearly 7:15 p.m.

After the picnic, we had thought of reaching Sadhguru Sannidhi in the evening to get enough time to get a Darshan of consecrated Deities and then enjoy the light or the laser show.

What is the entry fee for Isha Foundation Chikkaballapur?

There is No entry fee for Isha Chikkaballapur, however the vehicle parking feee is Rs 50 INR

Our Travel Schedule

We started at nearly 12:30 pm from our house, which is in JP Nagar. It took nearly 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach our meeting point.

We planned to meet near the cut toward Nandi Hills, as the other family was supposed to join us from Yelahanka.

The distance from Bangalore to Adiyogi Statue is approximately 70 KMs and usually it takes nearly 1.5 hours if you are travelling in your own vehicle.

Alternately, one can also visit Isha Foundation, Chikkaballapura by the local bus from Majestic.

The ticket costs Rs. 70 till Chikkaballapura and from there a round-trip auto-rickshaw charge is anything between Rs. 300 – Rs. 400, depending on your bargaining skills.

Some sharing-basis auto-rickshaws also charge Rs. 50 per passenger for a one-way trip.

From the airport, a taxi should take approximately 1 hour to reach Sadhguru Sannidhi as the distance is nearly 45 KMs.

Cooking near Adiyogi Statue

Picnic near Adiyogi

The road gets more scenic once you cross the main city and are near Kempegowda International Airport.

We went towards Chikkaballapura, looking for a nice spot where we could enjoy outdoor cooking in peace, while having some quality time with family and friends.

Thankfully, we managed to find a place, not so far from our destination. This was also near to the road leading to Sadhguru Sannidhi and the name of this village is Avalagurki.

It was exciting to meet the new members of our travel community and we helped ourselves with the steaming hot and scrumptious Raagi Paddu which were prepared for us.

We also enjoyed some Chaat and then a generous serving of Masala Tea.

In the meanwhile, an inquisitive local shopkeeper came by to see our way of enjoying the place and joined us over a tea. He also invited us to come to his shop on our next visit.

Now was the time to finally wrap up and head towards Isha Foundation so that we could see the Naga Shrine, Yogeshwar Linga and of course the Adiyogi Statue.

Gate to the Abode of Yoga

Gate to the abode of Yoga

The grand entrance to the Adiyogi Statue stands tall welcoming everyone, regardless of caste, creed, gender, and religious affiliations.

From this point, the distance to the Adiyogi Statue is between 3 to 4 Kilometers.

The view all around is quite scenic. The quarries on the way, few of which have been filled with rainwater, add on to the overall beauty of the place.

May be, keeping in mind the abode of Shiva as Mount Kailash, this place may have been zeroed in, as you get a feel of driving through the hills to reach the Adiyogi Statue.

Road Conditions

Road Condition to AdiYogi chikkaballapur

While the road is very smooth till the entrance of Sadhguru Sannidhi, the last 3-4 kilometers are still under construction.

Although the ride is bumpy, one can still take any kind of vehicle, be it a scooty, bike, auto-rickshaw, hatchback, sedan, or SUV.

We recommend a mask if you are allergic to dust as you would be passing through the clouds of dust on the under-construction road.

Currently, as the roads do not have streetlights, individuals who are not very confident in driving during the late hours should reconsider.

The Organic Chaos

Chaos and road to Isha chikkaballapur

“India is a very organic chaos, and that is its strength.” – Sadhguru’s statement flashed in my mind, the moment I noticed the complexities which are being taken care of in this initial phase.

Once we reached the destination, we felt like a drop in the ocean with so many devotees mobbing the place.

The good part was that despite of such huge numbers, we still managed to get a parking since there are multiple parking slots. The parking charges for the car were Rs. 50.

People of all ages were scattered around, and it was like visiting a fiesta with countless makeshift gift-shops and eateries fulfilling the needs to the fervent crowd.

Naga Shrine

Naga Shrine isha foundation chikkaballapur

Naga Shrine or Naga Mantapa is devoted to the energies of Naga which enhances one’s vyana prana and improves one’s immune system. There are 112 serpents carved on the Naga Shrine.

This shrine is open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm and Naga Arti happens at 6:20 am, 12:20 pm and 6:20 pm.

The day before every Amavasya and Purnima, Naga Snanam, a process to clean the Naga takes place at 8:00 pm.

There are different offerings to get relief from Naga Dosha and Kula Dosha as well.

Sarpa Seva, Mala Arpane, Dosha Nivarana Arpane, Dhoop Arpane and Samarpane are few of the offerings that one can make post registering for the same online.

Yogeshwar Linga

Yogeshwar Linga

Yogeshwara Linga is very near to the Adiyogi Statue which was consecrated by Sadhguru as a manifestation of five of the major chakras in human system.

With the presence of Yogeshwar Linga, Adiyogi has become a living entity.

One can participate in a 30-minute program, called Yoga Sandhya to alleviate Kula Doshas. This program starts at 5:40 pm every day.

Jala offering, Mala Arpane and Samarpane are some other offerings that can be performed for Yogeshwar Linga.

Adiyogi Statue

The Adiyogi Statue, at Sadhguru Sannidhi is the replica of the one at Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore.

The original Adiyogi Statue holds a Guiness World Record for being the largest bust (sculpture) which is 34.24 m (112 ft 4.0 in) high, 24.99 m (81 ft 11.8 in) wide and 44.90 m (147 ft 3.7 in) long.

The 112 feet tall statue represents the 112 ways through which we can transcend our limitations and reach our ultimate potential.

The statue weighs around 500 tons (490 long tons, 550 short tons).

Adiyogi Divya Darshanam

Naga Shrine Isha chikballapur

Adiyogi Divya Darshanam is the light show or the laser show which is projected on the Adiyogi Statue.

The narration in the show is in Sadhguru’s voice where he shares the origin of Adiyogi, different forms of Adiyogi and how the science of Yoga was handed over to human beings.

The duration of the laser show is approximately 15 minutes, and the timing is anywhere between 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

For us, the starting time for the laser show turned out to be 7:30 pm.

May Adiyogi be with us

May Adiyogi be with us

Ravana was not able to carry Atma Linga from Mount Kailash back to Lanka, but thankfully Adiyogi blesses us with a smaller replica which can be taken from any of the multiple gift shops.

Be Calm and let the crowd clear.

It was within minutes after the laser show, Adiyogi Divya Darshanam, was over that everyone started rushing towards the parking for the early start.

We realized that the road would be bottlenecked due to the vehicles coming from different parking lots and thus thought of spending some time enjoying some Bhajji at one of the eateries.

Thankfully the congestion was mainly only for 3-4 KMs post which the road was clear.

Another reason of the crowd could have been the day being a weekend. We hope that the situation may be better on weekdays.

By midnight, we reached back home and overall trip from and to our home was of approximately 12 hours.
