MUMBAI: In a big boost for the Rajasthan Royals, both their India stars – skipper Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal have recovered from their injuries and are set to be available for their first game in IPL 2025 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23.
Jaiswal, India’s Test opener, has recovered from his ankle injury and has joined the Royals’ camp already, while Samson, who underwent surgery for a right index finger fracture sustained during the home T20I series against England last month, is likely to join the Jaipur-based team on Monday after receiving a final clearance from the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

“Samson is joining RR on Monday. He has cleared his fitness test for his batting at the BCCI’s CoE, and now the medical team at the CoE is taking his wicket-keeping test as well before releasing him. Regarding Jaiswal, there was a small tear in his ankle. He underwent extensive rehab at BCCI’s CoE before being released for the IPL,” a source told TOI.
“JaisBall season has arrived,” the Royals had captioned a post recently. Jaiswal, who was named amongst the reserves for the Indian team for the 2025 Champions Trophy, had missed Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy semifinal against Vidarbha due to pain in his ankle. He subsequently reported to Bengaluru for rehab.
