Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has achieved a rare feat after their 12-run win over Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede on Monday. It was RCB’s first win at the Wankhede Stadium in 10 years.
RCB also became the first team to register wins against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk and Mumbai Indians at Wankhede.
Historically, only one team, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), managed this elusive triple feat in 2012.
RCB has showcased a blend of batting firepower and strategic bowling to beat these formidable opponents in their den. RCB’s ability to navigate the diverse conditions and overcome the psychological pressure of playing away from home speaks volumes about how the management has built this new team.
After four games, RCB are currently placed at third place with three wins and one loss.
RCB started their campaign in an emphatic way with a commanding seven-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, finishing the chase with a whopping 22 balls to spare.

In their second outing RCB clinched a dominating 50-run victory over CSK. It was their first win at Chepauk since 2008 and also recording Chennai’s highest margin of defeat at their home.
However, they faced a setback in their first match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where Gujarat Titans thrashed them by eight wickets.
But RCB bounced back in style against MI. Batting first, brisk half-centuries by skipper Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli powered RCB to 221 for five.
In reply, MI were stopped at 209 for nine after Tilak Varma (56 off 29 balls) and captain Hardik Pandya (42 off 15) threatened to take the game away from RCB with an 89-run stand for the fifth quick. However, Krunal Pandya (4/45) took three wickets in the final over to seal the issue in RCB’s favour.
