Ashwin’s milestone came as he took 2/48 in his four-over spell, though his team ultimately lost the match by 18 runs. The 38-year-old has accumulated his 185 wickets across 217 matches at an average of 29.92 and an economy rate of 7.18, with best bowling figures of 4/34.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, known for his swing bowling, now sits fourth on the all-time list with 184 wickets from 179 matches. The 35-year-old maintains an average of 27.28 and an economy rate of 7.57, with career-best figures of 5/19 in the IPL.
The top two spots on the IPL wicket-takers list are held by Punjab Kings’ Yuzvendra Chahal with 206 wickets in 164 matches at an average of 22.83 and best figures of 5/40, followed by Piyush Chawla with 192 wickets in 192 matches at an average of 26.60 and best figures of 4/17.
The match where Ashwin achieved this milestone saw Punjab Kings emerge victorious against Chennai Super Kings. Opener Priyansh Arya scored his maiden IPL century, helping Punjab post a commanding total of 219 runs. His performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
The result has positioned Punjab Kings in fourth place on the points table with three wins and one loss. Chennai Super Kings currently occupy the ninth spot with one win and four losses in their campaign so far.
