IPL 2025 Orange Cap and Purple Cap Updated Standings: Ishan Kishan and Noor Ahmad lead the race

The race for the Orange and Purple Caps in IPL 2025 has kicked off with some stellar individual performances lighting up the early games. After a blockbuster debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Ishan Kishan sits comfortably atop the Orange Cap standings, thanks to his unbeaten 106 off 47 balls against Rajasthan Royals (RR). With a staggering strike rate of 225.53, Kishan has set the benchmark for the season.
Hot on his heels is Lucknow Super Giants’ Nicholas Pooran, who smashed 75 off 30 balls against Delhi Capitals, with a jaw-dropping strike rate of 250. Pooran’s teammate Mitchell Marsh also made a strong statement, hammering 72 at a blistering 200 strike rate, placing him third. RR’s Dhruv Jurel follows with 70, while Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Travis Head rounds out the top five with a stunning 67 against RR.

On the bowling front, CSK’s Noor Ahmad takes an early lead in the Purple Cap standings with an outstanding 4/18 against MI. The Afghan spinner’s economy of 4.50 was equally impressive, choking the middle overs with precision.
He’s followed by five bowlers tied at three wickets each: Khaleel Ahmed (CSK), Krunal Pandya (RCB), Vignesh Puthur (MI), Mitchell Starc (DC) all with similar figures. RR’s Tushar Deshpande, despite being on the losing side, also picked up 3 wickets but was more expensive.
