Can CSK qualify for IPL 2025 playoffs?
With four matches remaining for CSK, they are mathematically out of playoff race for the second year running. In IPL 2025, CSK have become the first team to be out of qualification hunt. They’ve never lost out on qualifying for the playoffs for two straight editions.
In fact, CSK had qualified for playoffs in each season from 2008 until 2019 before missing the top-four in 2020. They repeated that unfortunate feat in 2022 and have now missed out on progressing in 2024 and 2025.

What do you think is the main reason for CSK’s poor performance this season?
With four points to show for themselves and four matches remaining, even if CSK go on a winning spree, the most they can manage is 12 points. That will not be enough to see them reach the top-four with the mark already set at 12 points.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (14 points), Punjab Kings (13 points), MI, Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals (12 points) are all better placed even if CSK pick up four straight wins.

With CSK’s playoff hopes reduced to dust, they will play the next four matches with nothing but pride to play. Yet, they could make a difference in how the playoff race pants out with matches against RCB, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and GT.
