Inside Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput's 10,000 square feet duplex in Worli which the actor showed his wife when she was heavily pregnant

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput who were earlier staying in Juhu have now moved to Worli. It’s a four bedroom duplex which is made while keeping both Shahid and Mira’s aesthetics in mind. In a recent interview, while Mira showed their home to Architectural Digest India, she revealed that she and Shahid have very different likings when it comes to aesthetics. Thus, their home has a mix of both.
Talking about the shift, Mira said, “Six months later, we got engaged; six months after that, we got married; and then I found out I was pregnant. So while we changed [things] around the apartment to fit one baby, when I was pregnant with my son, we started really looking.” Mira who is now also an influencer revealed that she and Shahid did not want to move beyond Sea-Link. But they loved this place in Worli so much that they knew it was home.
She revealed that Shahid liked the place so much, that he took Mira to see it and ask for her opinion when she was heavily pregnant with their second child. “It wasn’t at all what we were looking at—the location, the size, even in terms of the budget we had in mind. But when I walked in, I knew it was home.”
Mira revealed more details of their home and said, “My parents visit often, and we wanted them to be comfortable.” They have a home theatre and lounge, Shahid’s DJ table, an open-air gym on the deck, a small pantry and an office. “It’s very seamless for both of us to go from home to work, without feeling that work is intruding. The separation of spaces allows the family to come together but have their own corners, too,” she said.
The highlight of their house is a geometric black staircase with rooms build around it. Even the lights in the house have Mira and Shahid’s taste inculcated. “Shahid is obsessed with lighting. He likes dim, moody lighting, and I prefer it bright, so we have played with both aspects,” she said.
Their home was designed within 14 months during the pandemic. The furniture was a mix of local and global makers. Mira revealed, “Half the budget of our home is in the ceiling! But I do feel it’s made the most difference.”
Shahid and Mira’s home is their comfort place and their little world with their children Misha and Zain.
