India’s unbeaten run in the ongoing Champions Trophy has taken them within a win of lifting the trophy, as Rohit Sharma & Co defeated Australia by four wickets in the first semifinal on Tuesday in Dubai.
The dominant nature of India’s run has convinced former fast bowler S Sreesanth that they will win the title irrespective of whether they play South Africa or New Zealand in the final on March 9.

India’s opponents will be decided on Wednesday at the end of the second semifinal between the Proteas and the BlackCaps.
“Doesn’t matter who the opponents are in the final, India are going to win,” Sreesanth said while talking to PTI.
“There is so much positive energy. They are playing some wonderful cricket. The way Virat Kohli anchors the chase, the way Shreyas Iyer has stepped up — let’s just keep our fingers crossed.”
Gautam Gambhir hits out at critics after India beat Australia to reach Champions Trophy final
Kohli led India’s chase of 264 against Australia with a knock of 84 that won him the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
Before this, Kohli scored an unbeaten century in India’s win over Pakistan during the group stage of the tournament, where India also defeated Bangladesh and New Zealand.
“Let’s be humble in our process. That’s what Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) used to say — one of the best captains I’ve played with,” said Sreesanth, who was part of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup-winning teams.
“Even Sourav Ganguly used to say the same. Dada always used to say, let’s be humble and trust the process. That’s exactly what the Indian team is doing… Gautam (Gambhir) bhai is doing a great job,” Sreesanth added.
