On this day 13 years ago, after a wait that lasted an year, Sachin Tendulkar did the almost unthinkable by scoring his 100th international century when India played the fourth ODI on their 2012 tour of Bangladesh.
Tendulkar is the first and still the only player to score a century of centuries in international cricket, with 51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs. He is followed by Virat Kohli, who has scored 82 centuries, including 50 in ODIs that is one more than Tendulkar in 50-overs cricket.

The historic century in the Mirpur ODI saw Tendulkar scoring 114 off 147 balls, leading India to 289 for 5. However, India lost the match by five wickets.
Tendulkar announced his retirement from international cricket the following year, on 16th November 2013, at the age of 39 years and 8 months after playing his 200th Test, which was against the West Indies on his home ground — the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The cricket fraternity and fans came out on social media on Sunday to celebrate Tendulkar’s historic achievement of 100 international tons:
Tendulkar finished his career with 34,357 international runs in 200 Tests, 463 ODIs and 1 T2OI.
In Tests, he scored 15,921 runs at an average of 53.78, while in ODIs and T20Is he scored 18,426 and 10 runs respectively.
