The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall over Mumbai for the next two days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange alert for Maharashtra forecasting heavy rainfall. Mumbai is witnessing continuous rainfall overnight and is expected to encounter more heavy showers over the next two days.
IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, predicting moderate to heavy rain in the city and suburbs, with a possibility of very heavy rainfall in isolated areas.
According to IMD’s weather bulletin, very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Konkan and Goa from July 25 to July 27, and in Madhya Maharashtra on July 26 and 27.
Incessant overnight rainfall has caused severe waterlogging in several parts of Mumbai.
Schools Shut In Pune, Palghar Amid Heavy Rain Alert
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Pune, Thane, Palghar, and Ratnagiri districts. Pune Collector Suhas Diwase has ordered the closure of schools in Pune city and nearby areas due to the anticipated heavy rainfall in the region.
The school closure order extends to Pimpri Chinchwad, Bhor, Velhe, Maval, Mulshi, and Khadakwasla.
All schools and colleges have also been closed in Palghar after IMD’s orange alert for the district.
IMD Predicts Light Shower In Delhi
The national capital got a slight respite from persistently humid weather after light showers on Thursday morning. The Met Department has forecast more showers at most places of Delhi.
