Trainee IAS officer removed the name plate of a senior official from his chamber while she was allowed to use it.

Puja Khedkar, a probationary IAS officer posted in Pune has been transferred to the Washim district of central Maharashtra following controversies over her demands for a separate cabin and staff.

Khedkar, a 2023-batch IAS officer, has been transferred to Washim to complete the remaining term of her training and she will serve there as a “supernumerary assistant collector” till July 30, 2025, stated the official letter.

Khedkar stirred controversy after demanding facilities not be provided to probationary IAS officers. According to a report submitted by Pune collector Suhas Diwse to the General Administration Department, Trainee IAS demanded a car, residential quarters, a peon and a separate cabin.

Khedkar sparked a controversy when she started making demands for facilities that were not available to probationary officers in the Indian Administrative Service.

As per a report submitted by Pune collector Suhas Diwse to the General Administration Department, even before joining duty on June 3, Khedkar repeatedly demanded that she be provided with a separate cabin, car, residential quarters and a peon, reported PTI.

Khedkar was further accused of removing the nameplate of a senior official at Pune collector’s office. Reportedly, Khedkar was allowed to use the ante-chamber of additional collector Ajay More. She removed the official’s nameplate and moved the office furniture without his consent.

According to media reports, the trainee IAS officer allegedly used a red and blue beacon on top of her private Audi car and also has attached a board of ‘The Maharashtra Government’.

Pune collector Diwse in his report to the GAD said it was not appropriate to allow Khedkar to continue her training in Pune.
