Suryakumar Yadav and other Mumbai Indians cricketers on Thursday visited Ayodhya Ram Mandir for blessings ahead of their crucial Indian Premier League clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The India’s T20I captain was accompanied by his wife Devisha Shetty. The other Mumbai Indians cricketer, who were with Surya during the travel were Deepak Chahar, Tilak Varma and Karn Sharma.
Suryakumar Yadav is one of the best T20 players in the modern game. Not only does he score his runs at a brisk pace but also has the ability to make big scores on a regular basis instead of just cameos at a higher tempo. However, in recent times his form has taken a dip. In the last 17 innings for India, Surya has been only able to churn out 429 runs at an average of 26.81.
However in this year’s IPL, the 34-year-old has found his grove. He has scored 104 runs in his three outings with a highest score of 48 and a strike rate of 165.08.

IPL 2025 | Kagiso Rabada: ‘Even a No. 10 can hit a six… there’s no mystery anymore’

After a slow start, Mumbai Indians finally gave a commanding performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede. It was South African keeper-batter Ryan Rickelton, who guided them to victory in the chase of a sub-par total. Rohit and ‘Mr 360 degrees’ Suryakumar Yadav will have big roles to play in a side that doesn’t really bat deep but has an array of slow and fast bowlers who can deliver.
The prolonged absence of MI pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah due to injury and the management maintaining a stoic silence on his return is only adding to the frustration of the Hardik Pandya-led side.
Mumbai Indians, though, found success in the handy pace of young left-armer Ashwani Kumar, who single-handedly demolished defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders with excellent figures of 4/24 in three overs in their win at home on March 31.
