In a first, UP women at UN House to share stories of Jal Jeevan Mission induced transformation

LUCKNOW: In a significant recognition of the Jal Jeevan Mission‘s (JJM) impact, five women from Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh, will present stories of transformation at the UN House in New Delhi on Friday. These women will share their experiences with global water experts, highlighting the mission’s impact on communities in rural UP. This will showcase the transformative power of access to clean water and the employment opportunities created by the JJM.
All five invitees to UN House are FTK trained and from different villages of Jhansi
These five women, trained to test water quality using Field Test Kits (FTK) are ensuring access to clean drinking water, an effort that has earned them an invite from the United Nations Office in New Delhi. These women, including Bharti from Bamer village, Reena Ahirwar and Rampyari from Imilia village, Baby from Bajna village, and Sheela from Sijwaha village, receive a stipend of ₹20 per test. And at the UN House, they will demonstrate how to conduct these tests and share their experiences.
The Jal Jeevan Mission has successfully provided clean drinking water to rural areas, significantly reducing the incidence of water-borne diseases.
