Imtiaz Ali reacts to Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan's viral reunion: 'People are talking to me about 'Jab We Met' but ...'

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has expressed his thoughts on the growing buzz surrounding a potential sequel to his 2007 film ‘Jab We Met‘. The discussions were sparked by the recent interaction between the movie’s lead stars, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who shared a heartwarming moment with each other during an event in Jaipur.
Their reunion at the event, which many social media users affectionately dubbed the return of their iconic characters, Aditya and Geet, generated excitement, leading to questions about the possibility of a sequel. However, Ali stated that he finds it interesting that the conversation is still ongoing.

Kareena Kapoor Khan tags Shahid Kapoor in her ‘Jab We Met’ post; fans react

“People are talking to me about ‘Jab We Met’. Shahid has said that he thinks that I have moved on, but I think that everybody has moved on. It’s been a long time since Jab We Met,” Ali shared in a conversation with PTI.
Shahid and Kareena’s on-screen chemistry in the movie made them one of the most iconic pairs in Bollywood.
However, Ali believes the magic of the film should not be tampered with. “I think we should savour that, and we should not spoil it by coming up with a sequel at all,” he said.
Although there has been speculation, Ali made it clear that there are no immediate plans to reunite Shahid and Kareena on-screen. However, he felt delighted about their recent reunion and reminisced about the great time he had working with them in ‘Jab We Met’.
The director also discussed his latest project, ‘Jules’, a film about an unlikely friendship between a newlywed food blogger and a homeless woman in Melbourne. It is set to be released on March 14, on Holi, across India.
