Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), recognised as the world’s largest processed fertiliser cooperative and a prominent prominent player in agri-input manufacturing and marketing, has established a strategic collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Foundation for Development of Rural Value Chains (FDRVC). The FDRVC, established as a not-for-profit organisation under the Ministry of Rural Development’s initiative, focuses on supporting producer-owned collective enterprises (PE) with professional management. This collaborative effort seeks to strengthen Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) throughout India by improving their access to innovative, sustainable and premium agricultural inputs. The initiative is expected to benefit over 800 FPOs and one million farmers nationwide. The formal MoU signing ceremony was conducted between Yogendra Kumar, Marketing Director of IFFCO, and Bipin Bihari, CEO of FDRVC.Under this partnership, IFFCO shall provide advanced Nano Fertilisers, Bio-stimulants, Specialty Fertilisers and organic products including Bio-fertilisers and Bio-decomposers to FPOs linked with FDRVC. This collaboration aims to enhance agricultural yields and economic benefits whilst supporting the government’s objective of sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture through collective farming practices.Yogendra Kumar emphasised IFFCO’s dedication towards Indian farmers and its continuous efforts to transform agriculture through advanced technologies and farmer-focused solutions. The agreement ensures widespread distribution of IFFCO’s Nano Fertilisers and Specialty Products to remote areas, enabling small farmers to access premium agricultural inputs at reasonable prices through local FPOs.FDRVC, leveraging its extensive FPO network across various regions, will ensure efficient distribution, farmer education and promotion of these agricultural inputs through community-based approaches. The alliance will strengthen FPOs’ institutional capabilities and support their development as sustainable rural enterprises.
