The Prime Minister will administer the Ekta Diwas pledge and witness the Ekta Diwas Parade, which will feature a flypast by the Indian Air Force.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations in Gujarat on Thursday including an Indian Air Force flypast, following a floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, according to a government statement.
The Prime Minister will administer the Ekta Diwas pledge and witness the Ekta Diwas Parade, which will comprise 16 marching contingents from nine States and one UT Police, four Central Armed Police Forces, NCC and a marching band.
Special attractions include Hell March contingent of NSG, a daredevil show by BSF and CRPF women and men bikers, a show on the combination of Indian Martial Arts by BSF, a piped band show by school children, ‘Surya Kiran’ flypast by Indian Air Force, among others.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) is celebrated every year on October 31 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who played a huge role in the independence movement against the British Empire and the political integration of India.
PM Modi’s Schedule In Gujarat
During his two-day visit to Gujarat, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth over Rs 280 crore in Ekta Nagar in Gujarat’s Narmada district. He also inaugurated new projects, including a sub-district hospital, smart bus stops, a 4 MW solar project, and two ICU-on-wheels during his visit to Ekta Nagar on October 30.
The 50-bed sub-district hospital was built with Rs 22 crore investment. It houses a trauma centre, gynaecological operating theatre, minor operating theatre, CT scan, ICU, labour room, special ward, physiotherapy ward, medical store, and an ambulance, as per a release by the state government.
PM Modi also interacted with young civil servants during Aarambh 6.0. He had extensive discussions with young civil servants on improving governance with the spirit of Jan Bhagidari. The importance of having strong feedback mechanisms and improving grievance redressal systems was also highlighted by the PM.
The theme for this year’s programme is “Roadmap for Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat.” The 99th Common Foundation Course – Aarambh 6.0 – includes 653 Officer Trainees from across 16 civil services of India and three civil services of Bhutan.
