HR issues travel advisories, some get to work from home

BENGALURU: Several companies have taken implemented safety protocols, invoked business continuity plans and rolled out flexible work mandates amid rising border tensions. For instance, EY Global Delivery Services (EYGDS), has notified employees that their crisis response unit and management are tracking the situation. American Express is learnt to have suspended employee transportation services this week and asked its employees to work from home.An email sent to American Express and EY GDS didn’t elicit a response till the time of going to press.

Panasonic India has advised its employees in states along the border to work from home, and AXA Global Business Services has activated its remote working protocols for staff members. “In line with the govt directive, we have issued travel advisory to the border states in current times,” said Adarsh Mishra, CHRO at Panasonic Life Solutions India.HDFC Life has issued travel advisories to its employees, recommending vigilance, particularly for locations near the border. The firm has instructed its teams to either delay or withdraw plans for off-site gatherings, pending an improvement in the situation. “Our administration team and travel desk have been instructed to assist with cancellations on priority,” said Vibhash Naik, CHRO at HDFC Life. Engineering R&D firm Cyient founder chairman B V R Mohan Reddy said while the company has not issued any advisory to employees or partners so far, the business continuity plans that were put in place were activated.
