On Monday, Apple announced the iPhone 16 lineup at the “It’s Glowtime” event in Cupertino, California. The new iPhones — the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max — are the first designed for Apple Intelligence.Â
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus include a new A18 processor that 35% less power than the iPhone 15’s A16 Bionic, and runs a 6-core CPU that’s 30% faster. Other notable iPhone 16 features include a Camera Control button, an Action button, and a boost in battery life. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus come in five colors: ultramarine, teal, pink, white, and black.Â

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max include larger displays, an A18 Pro processor that’s 15% faster than the A17 Pro and 20% more power-efficient, a Camera Control feature, a new 48MP fusion camera, and what Apple says will be the best battery life on an iPhone, ever. The Pro models come in four colors: desert, natural, white, and black.
ZDNET reviews editor Kerry Wan went hands-on with the new iPhone 16, and said “for most users, these devices are almost perfect,” with a smaller gap between the base and Pro lines than ever.
